Short Biography

Jennifer “Miss B” Baptiste is a writer, actor, librarian, event host and illustrator. She creates lyrical introspective pieces to promote healing, mindfulness, and curiosity. Long Biography

Jennifer hails from Houston, Texas and is currently living and working in California. She is an American of Haitian descent. As a librarian, she enjoys introducing children’s literature to kids and has been doing so in educational settings for over a decade.

With a Masters degree in Library Science - School Librarianship from Sam Houston State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Houston, Jennifer continues her education with workshops on voice acting and writing. Being a member of SCBWI since 2016, Jennifer loves creating relatable stories for children and also shares some her adult poetry in various literary publications such as the Altadena Poetry Review, We The Ana, Drifter Zine, Mobile Data Mag, and Los Angeles Poets Society. Miss B. also promotes and uplifts other writers through her literary interviews as host of Los Angeles Poet Society's "Voices Of Color" IG Live Series and as co-event coordinator for Mobile Data Mag's Open Mic+Feature Summer Series.

Her hobbies include video editing, café writing, drawing, hiking, cooking, parkour, cycling, yoga, and travel. Jennifer’s presence on social media as @WheresMsB, can be found on platforms like BLUESKY, INSTAGRAM, THREADS, YOUTUBE and more.

Educator Biography

Jennifer is an academic librarian based in Los Angeles with over 20 years of experience in library settings. She holds a masters in Library Science from Sam Houston State University and is credentialed in School Librarianship in California and Texas.

Her library service accomplishments have a focus in mentorship, professional development presenting, instructional planning, event coordinating, leadership, and library marketing.

She enjoys teaching creative engaging literacy and research lessons as well as social media content creation, poetry writing, drawing, hiking, and yoga. You can learn more about her at jenniferbaptiste.com.
